“And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Lk 23:34)
“‘Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.’ And he said, ‘Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ And he said to him, ‘Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.'” (Lk. 23:40-43)
I just about came unglued this morning thinking of the forgiveness of Jesus. Surely this forgiveness has no limit. “There is no pit so deep but Christ is deeper still.” Have you pierced him with your actions? Mocked him with your words? Spit on him in disgust? Murdered? Blasphemed? His forgiveness is for you – and it’s all the more beautiful. This message is strictly for sinners.
Jesus, Lord, please remember me!
