The Beauty of Christmas — What’s wrong with the world?

Humanity has a disease and it’s called S-I-N. Our hearts fail as a result, and our infirmity is painfully evident during the Christmas season. There is no medicine in the world that can cure the human heart. Selfishness disorients us, as though we were blind, and materialism distracts us with its meaningless hoopla.

Thankfully, God has the remedy and his name is Jesus, “God is salvation.” Long ago in the city of David, God provided reconciliation. He provided the cure. You can’t earn it. You can’t buy it. You certainly don’t deserve it. Nevertheless, Jesus came, fully God and fully man, lived a perfect life, fulfilled the entire law, and made atonement for sin. He died in your place. He took your blame and guilt and pain and punishment upon himself. He cast your sins to the sea. He can be your righteousness. He can be your very life and joy. He came to revive your dead heart. Repent, believe, and accept His free gift. It’s a simple faith.

A dead heart beats — that’s the beauty of Christmas.
